WINNERS AND LOSERS IN THE GAME OF LIFE!

"You don't win the silver, you lose the gold."   Nike ad

Winners and Losers Winners and Losers

Readers may remember the ad campaign "You don't win silver, you lose the gold" that Nike introduced for the 1996 Atlanta summer games. Nike was roundly criticized for going against the spirit of the Olympics, and quickly pulled the campaign.

As much as we probably criticized the statement/quote above because all of the Olympic participants really were trying to win, it mostly is true! In that there are some consolation prizes, the moms and dads of the Olympic participants were proud of the "consolation winners" of the Olympics; but, the one who criticized being the consolation prize winner the most was the participant (consolation medal receiver) themselves.

The Book of Revelation is a book of chaos, catastrophes, calamities, chastisements, criticisms, complaints, condemnations, crisis....yet, it tells of challenges, confirmations, commendations, celebrations, and comebacks.

NOTE: THERE ARE NO CONSOLATIONS

Mark Twain's quote on living life was:
"Live like heaven is on earth...Love like you have never been hurt...Laugh like no one is listening...Sing as if no one can hear...Dance as if no one is watching... Dream like there are no impossibilities...Play like there are no winners...Give like you have plenty...Smile until your face hurts...Cherish your family and friends every day!"

Even if you agree with the quote above and do all of the actions Mr. Twain stated... That ticket will not get you to heaven.

There are no consolation trophies for living a good life.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions and good works.

Accept forgiveness and become an instant winner... no scratch off games!
