TRAITS OF A PERSON WITH A "JEZEBEL SPIRIT"
Note: A person or group can have a "Jezebel spirit" by possessing one or more
of these traits:
- Refuses to admit guilt or wrong doing. This means covering up wrongs by lying, deceiving, or pointing fingers at someone else or thing.
- Takes credit for everything that happens if the "everything" receives accolades and praise.
- Uses people to accomplish its agenda...better said by saying, "Misuses or abuses people in order to accomplish its agenda.
- Withholds information. This is a form of control. A Jezebel wields power over you by knowing something you don't know in a situation.
- Talks in confusion. It is impossible to converse with a Jezebel in logic. When confronting a Jezebel, the subject may be changed five times in one minute just to confuse the real issue discussed and addressed.
- Volunteers for anything. A Jezebel volunteers in order to establish control. Volunteering is done to receive accolades.
- Lies. A Jezebel lies convincingly. No one can lie better than he can. He can turn on the charm and make you believe blue is red.
- Ignores people. A classic ploy of a controller is to ignore you when you disagree with him.
- Never gives credit or shows gratitude. This is one who does not yield to giving credit to others; never humbles himself to giving gratitude and thanks to others.
- Criticizes everyone. His way or the highway...or, the only way is his way and all other methods for completing a project is rejected.
- One upmanship. A person with a Jezebel spirit will always upstage another person.
- Uses information to establish control. Information is gained to effectively criticize or show that his knowledge of a situation is better because he knows a little about everything. Spiritual wisdom is confronted by carnal knowledge.
- Spiritualizes everything. This is not godly wisdom, but the misuse and abuse of knowledge; Knows scriptures to back his or her assumptions. Turns scripture around in order to get his or her way.
- Is insubordinate, pushy and domineering. Does not give way to authority; challenges every decision by those who have been placed in charge of "whatever." Will pry into every mind to get his or her way.
- Sows seeds of discord. The "Jezebel spirit" comes out by using people to challenge authority and to challenge decisions by a counsel of Godly people. This person loves to see discord amongst his peers and those in authority. This includes the world and church business matters. He or she cannot accept decisions that go against his or her desire to gain personal fame or fortune.
- Commands attention and is vengeful. Revenge is on the mind of a person with a "Jezebel spirit" when another person or group is singled out as being worthy of honor. The person demands attention or will seek ways to go on the offense in defeating and demeaning the person or group who has been honored for a good work.
- Knows it all. In his mind, nobody else has the answers needed to solve the problem.
- Gift giving. Gift giving is a form of manipulation a Jezebel uses that always makes you feel obligated to him.
- Is independent. No one has input in a Jezebel's life. He fraternizes with no one unless it is to get you to "cooperate" with his agenda.
- Is religious. A Jezebel dwells in the local church but doesn't like authority unless he is in the position of authority. He or she looks down on others who seem to be more "spiritual" than he or she is.
