SING FOR JOY

God loves music! The Bible mentions music and singing hundreds of times. After all, the Book of Psalms is a song book. Music comes from God, and when we participate in it - whether by writing, performing, or even just listening - we are giving a gift back to God.
  1. The music of the Gospel leads us home... Frederick W. Faber
  2. The best, most beautiful, and most perfect way that we have of expressing a sweet concord of mind to each other is by music. Jonathan Edwards
  3. It is not sufficient to offer the empty vessel of our joy unto God, or our singing voice in musical tune only; but also it is required that we fill our joyful voice with holy matter and good purpose, whereby God only may be reasonably praised. David Dickson
  4. And when the musician played, the hand of the Lord came upon him. 2 Kings 3:15
  5. Worship is an inward feeling and outward action that reflects the worth of God. John Piper
  6. Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul; it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us. Martin Luther
If you are a music lover, you are a potential partner with God. Of course, I'm sure that God does not approve of all types of music. I get that from HIS utter hatred for how the Israelites were acting with revelry type music and the actions the Israelites were engaged in when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments (rebellious and ungodly actions to go along with the music).

Worshipful music blesses and pleases our God. He is especially pleased when his people are worshiping with a genuine heart of repentance and actions that please HIM.

Sing to the Lord with a heart centered in on pleasing our Lord and Master.

Ephesians 5:18b-20,"...Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and  songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to  God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
