The Bible is an extraordinary book. In 2012 alone, the United Bible Societies distributed more than 400 million Bibles, Testaments, and smaller Scripture portions. The Bible is by far the most circulated book in all of history with billions in circulation. It has now been translated into 2,650 languages, making it available in a familiar language to well over 90 percent of the world's population.

What is your earliest memory of seeing a Bible?

What is the Bible designed to do for us?

Designed to:
  • Help us think correctly...
  • Help us to seek and go after God.
  • Keep us on the right track
  • Bring us to salvation
  • Have fellowship with God
  • Prepare for the future and the afterlife.
If the Bible is designed to help us think correctly, what would cause us to not think correctly... amusement (musement = to think)... "a" negates it.

Today we are "amused" to sleep. Entertainment is thinking for us. When we read or watch to be entertained... we are doing it to keep us from thinking right (Someone else is telling us how to think).

God's Word helps us to think correctly... to seek after God... and to bring us to salvation, serving Him in fellowship... preparing for our future.
